Our story began with a humble seed. Slowly, over time, its roots ran deep into the rich soil of opportunity. Nurtured by wisdom and experience, the seed grew from a sapling to a tree, drawing strength from those who cared for it so that it could spread its branches and bear fruit.

50 years on, Agchem Manufacturing Corporation stands among the leaders of a fast-growing industry; a pioneering company in the field of crop protection. We attribute our success to the vision our company was founded upon: to uplift the lives of Filipino farmers.

We constantly ask ourselves: how can we help them farm better? And the answer lies in every product we make.

From the very beginning, our team worked hard to earn a reputation synonymous with uncompromising quality. We pride ourselves in the formulation and manufacture of products that adhere only to the highest standards, and it is this commitment to excellence that distinguishes us from our competitors to this very day.

As we look foward to the next chapter in our history, we remember our founders to whom we owe our success: the late Dr. Felix Maramba, Jr.—a brilliant chemist, entrepreneur, and civic leader—and Mr. Jose Ma. Lopez, a Bacolod native raised among the island’s sugar plantations—whose business acumen helped lay the foundation toward our sustainability.

Dr. Maramba’s and Mr. Lopez’s vision, expertise, and love of country live on in our organization’s culture. Their combined ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit transformed our company into what it is today. We proudly imbibe the ideals and values they established from the very beginning in honor of their legacy.

Tracing our roots back to 1972, we started as a small player—a single product company serving a small group of clients in the agricultural chemicals sector. Then, the company made an important pivot toward the development of multiple product lines, effectively transforming us into one of the country’s leading developers. This would prove to be a critical shift that would secure the company’s steady rise in the years to come.

Our growth stemmed from firmly committing to our mission to engineer a vibrant selection of high quality products tailored to the growing needs of the market. We abided by the highest ethical and environmental standards. But most importantly, we built on the collective efforts of a world-class team dedicated to do its part to create a thriving agricultural landscape.

Agchem now proudly carries five major product categories, each with their own variants and brands. We have since grown our clientele to industrial partners, multinational conglomerates, and local businesses operating throughout the country.

To this day, we continue to develop, formulate, and manufacture products responsive that further elevate our farmers’ productivity.  We place a premium on innovation that enable us to adapt and evolve to the changing landscape.

These last fifty years are the result of a grand team effort, and the proud heritage we cultivated is testament to all that we achieved as Team Agchem. With each milestone, our roots run even deeper, establishing a robust foundation for our continuous growth, further reinforced by our standing as an ISO-certified institution, cited for our good manufacturing practices and environmentally sound operations.

Much has changed since our humble beginnings. But a big part of our success is having always stayed true to the core of our business.
